The French Revolution was one of the most influential and significant events in world history; it continues to fascinate people two centuries after the people of France rebelled against their rulers. The French Revolution was not just a revolt against the regime of the Bourbon Kings; it embodied an entire new way of viewing the world and human society. Although the Revolution failed to live up to its own rallying cry, "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity", it spread these ideals far and wide. It has partially made our world what it is today.
